Kapil Dev Nikhanj, popularly known as Kapil Dev, was born on January 6, 1959, in Chandigarh, India, to Ram Lal Nikhanj. He is one of India’s cricketing legends and an iconic all-rounder who made a significant impact on the sport during his illustrious career. Kapil Dev’s cricketing journey began in 1978 when he made his debut for the Indian cricket team.

Kapil Dev was a versatile all-rounder who could bat aggressively and bowl pace with great skill. His most memorable achievement came during the 1983 Cricket World Cup when he led the Indian team to victory, lifting the coveted trophy for the first time in India’s cricketing history.
